Creative Designer | Communications Specialist

Toronto, Ontario | akkpdesign@gmail.com

I’m a creative designer and communications specialist with over 10 years of experience delivering strategic visual communication across financial, public sector, real estate, and non-profit environments. My background combines corporate design, marketing, branding, and visual storytelling, with a focus on creating work that is clear, purposeful, and effective.

I built the foundation of my career at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, where I led the design of reports, presentations, exhibitions, campaigns, motion graphics, and public-facing communication materials. In that role, I translated complex financial, policy, and research content into accessible visual formats and collaborated with multiple departments to deliver high-impact communication aligned with institutional standards.

My experience also includes marketing and brand-focused work in Toronto, where I create social media content, brochures, email campaigns, website graphics, and promotional materials for real estate, media, and non-profit organizations. Across these roles, I’ve helped strengthen brand identity, improve audience engagement, and produce design solutions tailored to both print and digital platforms.

I work across a wide range of tools and formats, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Canva, motion graphics, UI visuals, campaign design, and print production. I also integrate AI tools into my workflow to improve efficiency, generate ideas, and support modern content creation.

Alongside my professional roles, I continue to work as a freelance designer through AKKPdesign, offering branding, digital design, and visual storytelling services for a range of clients. My approach is grounded in strong design fundamentals, collaboration, and a commitment to creating communication that connects with people and delivers results.
